Hello! Thank you for visiting my website! I am honored to serve the community, families, and most importantly the students of Union Park. This will be my fourth year teaching! I spent the past two years of my career at Rivera Elementary, another Denton ISD elementary school. I taught 4th grade at Rivera for both years. I spent my first year teaching 6th grade in Dallas.

I am a Florida native! I was born and raised in the magical city where dreams come true, Orlando, Florida. I obtained my bachelor's degree from Florida A&M University in Broadcast Journalism. It's located in Tallahassee, Florida. Shortly after graduating from FAMU, I moved to Texas to be closer to my parents (they moved my 3rd year at FAMU because of my mom's job).

My love for language, literature, art, writing, and talking began to flourish in college! Throughout my matriculation as a School of Journalism and Graphic Communications student, I became a Jill of all trades. I previously wrote for several of FAMU's media outlets and was a special to the Tallahassee Democrat (see the published articles tab). I served as a news anchor host for WANM FM. I interned at Walt Disney World and served as a Guest Relations Specialists for Port Orleans Hotels. I also developed a love hate relationship for sports as I interned for FAMU Athletics. Among all of the accolades listed above, I think my greatest accomplishment is being a teacher. I strive to be an effective educator, role model, and vessel so that I can help others find their purpose. My college experience revealed to me that writing and dissecting literature is truly my passion.

My biggest goal for the 2019-2020 academic year at Union Park Elementary school is to share my knowledge and passion for reading and writing with my students in a fun and enjoyable way, so that the students develop their own love for literature. I want them to leave this year knowing that literacy is an amazing outlet to communicate your feelings, share your ideas, and explain your reasoning. It also gives us the power to experience other people's thoughts, perceptions, and ways of life. The power of literature is limitless and the words that you write and read today, can live on forever.

All of my immediate family is here in Texas. My parents live in Union Park as well as my sisters and two nephews. My youngest nephew Jayden Seay is excited to be joining me as a 4th grade Union Park Pioneer.
